We obtain the coffee beans for this coffee directly from the women's cooperative Chebonet Women Coffee Development Association in the Kapchorwa region in eastern Uganda. There, 100 women each manage their own small coffee plantation and grow SL 14 Arabica beans on the fertile soil of the extinct volcano Mount Elgon at an altitude of 1,800-2,000m. GERUGA Coffee buys these beans at fair prices and imports them directly to their roastery in Kassel.

The strong roasting gives the coffee almost imperceptible acids and creates a full-bodied aroma with notes of dark chocolate and a hint of sweet marzipan.
